Documenting Kelly Rauer’s “Locate” performances @ closing party of Portland 2014 Biennial

Happy to announce that we’ll be at Disjecta this Saturday evening at 7pm to document  performances in response to Kelly Rauer’s multi-Channel video installation, Locate. The event is part of the closing celebration for the Portland 2014 Biennial.

From Disjecta’s website:

The closing reception for Portland2014 converges with the public opening of Disjecta’s newest tenant, FLOCK Dance Center, for a celebratory evening of performance happenings. The last Saturday Series event, TUMBLE—and official closing party for the biennial—will feature performances organized by biennial artist Kelly Rauer and FLOCK director Tahni Holt that respond to and communicate with Rauer’s video installation “Locate.”

Seeking a deeper dialogue with her work, Rauer collaborated with Holt to invite a group of provocative performers from the dance and visual art communities to engage with Locate and respond through a series of short, tumbling performance dialogues.

Linda Austin , Linda Hutchins, Tracy Broyles (FLOCK member), Linda K. Johnson, Muffie Connelly & Ruth Nelson, Tere Mathern, Posie Currin & Rebecca Steele, Kaj-anne Pepper (FLOCK member), Keyon Gaskin, Robert Tyree, Jen Hackworth, Leah Wilmoth, Allie Hankins (FLOCK member) and Takahiro Yamamoto

The evening brings to a close the Portland2014 Biennial and celebrates FLOCK’s public opening—acknowledging the influence of both the exhibition and the space on Portland’s creative landscape. (The audience can come and go as they wish throughout the event.) Curator Amanda Hunt will be present.
